The Section for Agriculture at the Goetheanum is publishing a documentation on biodynamic agriculture today. The «Agriculture Course» held in 1924 by Rudolf Steiner gave a new impulse for the development of agriculture: a holistic agriculture, which uses a modern approach to work directly with the life processes of nature and thus opens a new perspective on the future cultivation of the earth came into being. At whitsun 2014 it will be 90 years since the Agriculture Course, that gave origin to the biodynamic movement, was held in Koberwitz. The dates of the lectures in Koberwitz coincide exactly with the dates in the year 2014.
In the 90 years since this course was held, many people have been inspired by its ideas and put them into practice in diverse fields of activity. The diversity and the depth of this agriculture of the future – as it exists today – is portrayed in the present book.
The biodynamic approach to gardening, fruiticulture, landscape and social design, beekeeping, nutrition, research and development and many other topics are covererd by 26 different authors. This book provides an insight into the key ideas of biodynamic agriculture and is ideally suited to gain an overview of the diverse biodynamic movement. Therefore, this book is not only of interest to members of the biodynamic movement, but also to the general public, and in particular to the alliance partners of the biodynamic movement.
The book is published by the Verlag am Goetheanum and will be available in early February in German and English.
